The Log Building segment of the semester has concluded after many intense hours of hands on learning... The Raising went up without a hitch and in record time too- no overtime for this group; who were very meticulous with test fitting their pieces.
We have yet another fantastic group of students from diverse backgrounds, whom have come to our Island for the same reasons, a passion for learning this type of woodwork, to work in a booming Log Building and Timberframe Industry and to Build their own home with a more organic approach. What they didn't expect was to mesh into the Island community so rapidly. Are taken aback by the natural and breathtaking surroundings , the laid back and always helpful nature of the Islanders, and the strong camaraderie that is established between students with varied cultural differences.
Lubo Lapsansky GraduationWe welcome all of you and hope your stay at the school and the island is positive and memorable- from what I see and hear, I know it is already
Farewell to Lubo Lapsansky ... Lubo completed Log Building with much skill and exuberance and we are definitely missing his presence, his bright smile and ALWAYS positive attitude and of course his fire walking & gypsy dancing.- come and see us after your trip back to Slovakia and the BEST of luck to you and your family in everything you strive to do- we are excited to see the Log home you have yet to build back home! Take care Lubo!
