The
Student learns to Plan, Layout and Construct a Log Building(s)
from Foundation to Roof using a variety of hand and power
tools, with emphasis on chainsaw handling.

a series of increasingly difficult Building projects all at
various stages of construction. This enables the Student to
learn the maximum amount of skills within the shortest period
of time while progressing at his/her own pace.
Week 1: Drafting
Blueprints; Chainsaw Use& Safety; Tree Felling; Wood technology;
Log Floor Sill and Joist Construction.
Week 2: Foundation
Layout; Scribing Wall Logs using the Round Notch and Lateral
Groove; Placing Log Joists; Structural Beam Sizing.
Week 3: Scribing and Fitting Wall Logs using the Saddle Notch; Lofting Roof Systems; Rigging Systems/Hydraulic Crane Use; Scribed Piece-en-Piece Construction.
Week 4: Specialty Notches including Scribed Diamond, Dovetail and Log Post to Beam Mortise & Tenon; Roof Layout and Construction; Wood Finishing; Tool Sharpening.
